Company Update: Awards, Networking and a Fresh New Look!

July has been a busy and exciting month at Lock Financial Services, with plenty happening away from client meetings and financial planning conversations.

From award recognition to local business networking, as well as a professional photoshoot, it has been a month of celebrating how far the business has come and looking ahead to the future.

Finalists at the UK Small Business Awards

The biggest news this month is that Lock Financial Services has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Best Business Startup category at the UK Small Business Awards 2026!

Being recognised alongside other successful startups from across the UK is a fantastic achievement, and a real testament to the support received from clients, professional connections and our local community.

Building a financial planning business that focuses on education, accessibility and supporting older and vulnerable people has always been the goal. To receive recognition for that journey is something we are incredibly proud of.

Whatever the outcome at the awards ceremony, being named a finalist is an achievement worth celebrating!

A Day at Chepstow Racecourse

This summer also provided an opportunity to step away from the office and enjoy some networking at Chepstow Racecourse, thanks to an invitation from the team at Berry Smith Solicitors.

The event brought together a variety of local professionals and business owners from across South Wales. It was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen existing relationships, make new connections and spend time with some brilliant local businesses.

A huge thank you to Berry Smith for their hospitality and for organising such an enjoyable event.

Think Pink: New Professional Headshots

July also saw Director Charlene Lock update the company's professional photographs.

Regular visitors to our website and social media channels will know that bright pink has become something of a Lock Financial Services trademark, so it seemed only fitting that the latest photographs featured the firm's signature colour!

The new images will be appearing across our website, marketing materials and social media channels over the coming months. Financial advice can sometimes feel intimidating, but as the famous business saying goes - ‘people buy from people’, and being a small business our personal service is one of our strongest points.

We hope the updated photography reflects the approachable, friendly and professional service Charlene strives to provide every day.

Looking Ahead

As we move into the second half of the year, we remain focused on helping individuals and families make informed financial decisions, particularly around later-life planning, care fees, retirement and inheritance planning.
